'The Magic Of Richard Clayderman' was a double album compilation featuring 26 titles from Richard's first six French releases. Album highlights include: 'Lyphard Melody', 'Give A Little Time To Your Love', 'Nostalgy' and a live performance of 'Ballade Pour Adeline'.

Richard Clayderman is, quite simply, the most popular pianist in the world today. He was first inspired by his father, who was a piano teacher. And it is said that at the age of six he could read music easier than he could read words. In Richard's early teens he abandoned his academic studies and attended the French Academy of Music where he won a first prize at the age of sixteen. The influences of more popular music soon saw him working with such major French stars as Johnny Hallyday, Michel Sardou and Thierry le Luron. Later, with the help of Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint (contemporaries of Michel Legrand and Francis Lai) he began his own recording career.

His first release, 'Ballade pour Adeline' brought him to international attention. In the 40 countries where his LP's have been released, Richard Clayderman has sold over 27 million [1982 figures] records and has already received 121 Gold and 21 platinum records.
